Jorge Criment, a longtime coach of former UFC featherweight champion Ilia Toplia, has revealed about the pair’s recent split.
Alongside his brother Agustin, Kriment led Topulia throughout his mixed martial arts career, dating back to his days as a teenager cutting his teeth on the amateur circuit, until Max Holloway’s stunning third round knockout at UFC 308.
Naturally, Climent felt a variety of emotions when their long partnership ended, but the founder of the Climent Club revealed that there was no prolonged hostility between the two.
In an interview with Submission Radio, Climent provided insight into why the two parties mutually agreed to go their separate ways.
“No, no, we don’t work together anymore,” Kriment said. “He goes his own path, we go our path. This is not good for sentimental things, you know, but it’s life. We traveled with him.
“We’ve been so proud of him all the time. We’re so proud of everything he does, you know, and we know that very much. Of course we’re a little sad, but I want everything in his life to go well. You want everything good for him and his brother.”
Ilia Topuria’s move to Madrid ultimately ended its relationship with Climent Club
Topria’s split from Jorge Climet shocked both the fighters and the fans. But in reality, it took a long time.
Previously, Topuria lived in Alicante, Spain, where Climent Club is located, but with stardom rising in recent years, “Elmatador” frequently visited Madrid for various media duties and business-related ventures.
Eventually, Topuria decides to pick up her family and move to the country’s capital.
“Ilia lived in Madrid. I have my own project here with my brother,” he added. “We have a family. We have a club, we have a lot of fighters. We have promotions. Ilia went to Madrid. He has his own gym in his own home. He wants all the energy from him.
