Michael Bispin is being thrilled for Ilia Topria vs. Islamic Makhachev.
Although no official announcements have been made, Topuria made waves on social media when it announced that his fight camp had officially begun due to the rumoured lightweight title clash at UFC 317 during the International Battle Week in Las Vegas.
However, many people question exactly who Topuria will face. Perhaps he will challenge the 155-pound champion Islamic Makatiyev, but the “Dagestani Destroyer” is rumbling that he can open his belt by pursuing welter-class gold, just like what Topria did with the featherweight crown this year.
I’m sure “The Count” will be Topuria vs. Makhachev
Addressing all the rumours on his YouTube channel, Bispin truly believes that it’s Makhachev that “Elmatador” will face on June 28th, along with several other marquee matchups.
“Ilia, who started camping, who will? It will be Islamic Makhachev,” Bisping said. “I agree with you guys, are you okay? If it’s not the matchup we’re looking at, I’m very shocked. And I’m telling you, ‘Oh, seeing this, the UFC is struggling for an international fight.’
Well, we just talked about it, I did some videos – they might have John Jones, or maybe Ciryl Gane, right? According to Chael Sonnen, they currently have Ilia and Islamic Makachev, which is just a sensational hit and there are several other huge matchups.
Until Dana White and Co. makes an official announcement, speculation will certainly ramp out among fight fans, but whether it’s Islamic Makachev, Charles Oliveira, or someone completely different, it sounds like Ilia Topuria will have the opportunity to etch his name in the UFC history book.
