Austin Reeves is tired of seeing Russell Westbrook slander again.
Russell Westbrook is an NBA polarized character. The previous MVP is respected for his great play and non-stop energy. Or he is viled for his attitude and behavior in court.
In Westbrook, people are very hot or very cold. And it’s hard to understand why. From all accounts, Westbrook is a great teammate and a very hard worker.
He has been a huge influence on Aaron Gordon and has promised to help Russell Westbrook win the championship this season.
However, recent reports have raised questions about Russ’ character as a teammate. And another former teammate of Westbrook couldn’t take it anymore.

Austin Rivers has joined X to respond to ESPN’s recent report on the Denver Nuggets. In the work, one Nuggets source told Ramona Shelburne that Russell Westbrook was “immature.”
Rivers, who played with Westbrook, explained that these sources were hidden behind anonymity and should support what they said. He also defended Westbrook and called him a great teammate.
“Kill me with this anonymous s***. No more. I don’t want to talk more about anyone who says they’ve heard such things about the player because of anonymous sources…”
“If you’re going to talk about the player’s characters, their personal lives and certain things about them, say it on your chest and say you feel this way, or say their d*** name if you’re quoting someone else.”
“Y’all talks about Russell Westbrook being immature, says his own anonymous teammate. And that teammate, it’s the Bulls***? That’s so stupid, man. Tell me about it!”
“I really don’t want to hear that. I played with Russ. The last thing I’ve ever described him is immature. This guy is a microcosm of what a teammate looks like…”

Rivers wasn’t the only one to come out in Russell Westbrook’s defense. Aaron Gordon, the very man whose report claimed Westbrook, has closed the story of Russ being immature.
It’s been years since the media made Russell Westbrook one of their many scapegoats. And that’s when it stops.
Is he being criticized as a player? It’s definitely not. But almost all of his comments in the media about him are attacks on his personal personality, which seems grossly unfair.
Westbrook, all in-person accounts, is an incredible teammate and loving family. But for some reason, he appears to be his favorite punching bag in the NBA media.
