The Cleveland Cavaliers have new prospects as they aim for success entering the 2025-26 NBA season.
The Cleveland Cavaliers shocked many with their performance last season. No one expected them to be the best team in the Eastern Conference.
But that’s exactly what they did. Because the Cavaliers have registered their best NBA records since LeBron James’ departure in 2018.
However, the disappointing playoff exit in the second round ended what was an excellent season. Now, as they enter a new season, there is a new optimism.
The Cavaliers will become strong candidates for the dried up Eastern Conference. And the team seems to know their situation well and mentally prepare themselves to dominate.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking forward to the 2025-26 NBA season. According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, Cavaliers believe they have what it needs.
Fedor said he is confident in the chances of Kenny Atkinson and the Cavaliers competing for the championship. Their experience last season was a lesson they needed to push the title.
“Unsurprisingly, there’s a lot of confidence from Kenny (Atkinson) and there’s a lot of confidence from the people within this organization that the Cavs are ready to compete for the championship.
“And they believe they’ve learned what they need to learn. We can see – it has to play themselves. But they believe they’ve learned what they need to learn from the latest playoff exits.”
Just like last season, Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson has to motivate his players the right way.
Atkinson showed that at his best the Cavaliers can compete with the NBA’s upper management. But after a disappointing loss in the playoffs, he has to do more to make the most of his players.
Most of the time, the Cavaliers star appears to be very ambitious towards a new season. Evan Mobley backed himself up to win the MVP next season.
Darius Garland struggled with injuries during the playoffs last season. But that’s behind him now as Garland took great steps to quickly rehabilitate and get into a big shape.
If the Cavaliers can take advantage of the weaker Eastern Conference, it’s hard to see them past them as their favorites in the NBA Finals.
