Orlando’s magic is in the middle of an interesting Eastern Conference playoff battle with the Boston Celtics.
Boston, as expected, won the first two games, but the magic bounced back in the home victory of Game 3, keeping the series alive.
Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner have appeared in Orlando so far, and with more talent around them, it could lead the team deeper into the playoffs.
Many fans enjoy watching two stars, enjoying the team’s throwback, physical style of play, but one NBA champion already has enough.
Jeff Teague played 13 seasons in the NBA and made an All-Star appearance in 2015. He is currently part of a popular basketball podcast.
He recently spoke about magic as part of an ongoing playoff discussion and had some strong words about the crowd.
“I’m tired of magic,” Teague said. “I wasn’t a fan of magical home courts. Orlando Magic! (mocking). I’m like there are too many Disney here.
He continued his criticism of Orlando and said he played well at Kia Center many times because the atmosphere is so tame.
“Yeah, Orlando is not a difficult place to play. Their crowd is like Disney, they’re so relaxed, old. It’s not hyped like that. It’s very relaxed.
The magical fanbase may be friendly, but Mosley’s team certainly isn’t. Celtic star Jalen Brown spoke a while ago about Orlando’s physicality.
Outside Banchelo and Wagner, there are no bad points on the roster, especially with Jalen Suggs and Moritz Wagner injured.
This means they are needed on a good defensive basis to have the opportunity to compete with the top team, like in 2-seeded Boston.
The Magic (109.1) received the second-best defensive rating in the NBA after this regular season, only after the Oklahoma City Thunder (106.6).
