David Ornstein reports that Chelsea appears to be a clear favourite for Borussia Dortmund to sign Winger Jamie Gittens to the left this summer.
The talented young British previously had a spell with reading at Chelsea, Manchester City and the academy level, but it was Dortmund that he really began his career.
The Gitens are now back in British football and claim that Ornstein can copy things at Chelsea.
Despite Bayern Munich also interested in the 20-year-old, he reveals that the Gitens is committed to moving to Stamford Bridge, so he can see below for Ornstein’s X post about the deal…

Jamie Gittens appears to be set up for Chelsea’s transfer
Gittens looks like Chelsea’s clear first choice target on its left after Jadon Sancho left this summer.
The Blues had Sancho borrowed from Manchester United, but after a slightly overwhelming campaign they decided not to keep him.
Alejandro Garnacho has been linked to Chelsea in that position by the Telegraph and others, but now it appears that they have settled on the Gitens as their first choice.
Is Gittens the right choice for Chelsea?
Gittens finished the 2024/25 season with 12 goals and three assists in all competitions. It will be interesting to see if it can continue to develop into a top offensive player in CFC.
The West London giants have invested a lot in such young talent, which certainly seems to have a bright future for Gitens.
However, some Chelsea fans may be unhappy with their club targeting such inexperienced people again, instead of the more proven options that will help them win quickly.
