Manchester United reportedly plans to make an improved second bid for the relocation of Brentford forward Brian Mbeumo.
Cameroon International has clearly emerged as Man UTD’s top target this summer, with Ben Jacobs reporting that he plans to try again to close the transaction.
Jacobs, who posted on X’s official account, points out that the Red Devils have previously seen an opening bid of £405 million plus a £10 million for an add-on that Brentford rejected.
However, as United are trying to continue to bolster their offense this summer, they will try again with Mbeumo’s improved second offer…
Jacobs said: “Manchester United will be offering a second improved bid for Brian Mbemo. The initial offer of £45 million + £10 million was formally rejected by Brentford, but parties have been in consultation ever since.”
If MUFC can do this, it’s another great change to the front 3 of Ruben Amorim after Matheus Cunha’s signature from the wolves has already been confirmed.
Brian Mbeumo talks to Manchester United ongoing
The clear thing here is that a talk is ongoing between United and Brentford. So I imagine this is quickly heading towards an agreement.
If the bees weren’t ready to sell, they would simply have told United not to bother with the ongoing negotiations, but it appears not to be the case.
Clubs like Brentford often have to sell star names when large teams make calls, and United boasts incredible pull power even during these difficult times.
Amorim’s team finished 15th in the Premier League table last season, losing to the Europa League final, but Cunha and Mbeumo are two signatures that most other big six clubs will be very pleased with.
Mbeumo probably would have been ideal for Arsenal as they would need to bolster this summer’s offense for Arsenal too, but Charles Watts explained why Gunner wasn’t getting serious about him in his latest exclusive column Catch off side.
