Arsenal centre-back Cristian Mosquera has loudly claimed that Gunners wonderkid Max Doman reminds him of Barcelona and Spanish sensation Lamine Yamal.
The former Valencia defender joined Arsenal this summer but admitted he didn’t know much about Dauman before joining.
However, in an interview with The Athletic, Mosquera made it clear how highly he rates Dauman, calling him “incredible” and hinting that he will be a world-class player in the future.
This is not the first time we have heard considerable hype about Dauman, who is already part of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal first team at the age of 15.
The England teenager has long been seen as one of the most exciting talents to come out of the North London academy and Mosquera is clearly hugely impressed.
Arsenal have their own Lamine Yamal in Max Doman
Dauman plays in a similar position and style to Yamal, and is already considered one of the best players in the world, despite being only 18 years old himself.
Yamal first appeared at the same age as Dauman and Mosquera has high hopes for what Arsenal’s youngster can achieve in the game.
“I don’t want to compare, but his style and the way he plays is similar to Lamine Yamal. His movements are Lamine-like,” Mosquera said.
“I didn’t care about him at all and by the time I got to Singapore he was already training and playing. I couldn’t believe it when they told me he was 15 years old. He’s a really good player and I think he’s going to be world class.”
Arsenal’s academy continues to produce talent
There is no doubt that Arsenal’s academy, which continues to produce many top players, is currently one of the best in the world.
Bukayo Saka is the best example after coming through the ranks to become one of the best players in the first team, with Ethan Nwaneri and Miles Lewis Skelly also already performing to a very high standard.
In recent times we have seen the rise of the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson, who have all shone at Premier League level, even if they haven’t been able to make it at the Emirates Stadium.
