The Schubmann gill-led side completely outperformed the three lions in the Edbaston Test, dominating all five days to earn a historic 336-run victory.
It was the first time in history that an Indian team had registered a test victory at Birmingham’s Edgbaston. The 336 run margin was India’s biggest win in the away match, making the victory even more special.
India also became the first Asian team to win a Test at Birmingham’s Edbaston in its ninth attempt, but Pakistan (8 matches) and Sri Lanka (2 games) did not win at the venue.

We made dust that licks the Bezball. This victory needs to be celebrated – Aakash Chopra
Speaking on his official YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra highlighted that India outperformed England on Edgbaston and showed global domination in Test cricket over the past few years. He explained in detail:
“It was both record-breaking and record-breaking. History was created on the ground on the Edbaston. Captain (Schubman) Gill laid the foundations on the mountain of running. There were over 1,000 runs.
“We’ve never won at Edbaston before, but now we did that. If we saw the last few overseas wins, we created history each time. We won at Cape Town, Optus Stadium, Optus Stadium in Perth and now there. Division,” he added.
In the bowling attack you played, two bowlers actually got all the wickets – AakashChopra
Aakash Chopra further stated that despite India’s ability to win the Edgbaston test, there are still many questions to answer regarding team selection. He explained in detail:
“What’s the path beyond this? Of course I won this Test match and got 20 wickets, but it needs to be practical. In the bowling offense, two bowlers actually got all the wickets. The other bowlers didn’t contribute much.
“Rabindra Jadeha has bowled decently, but he hasn’t picked up wickets. He has earned runs but he hasn’t got wickets. Nitish Kumar Reddy plays purely as a batter because he’s not bowled that much.
