The Indian women faced a major blow in the prep warm-up game ahead of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025.

India has been holding the Women’s ODI World Cup for a long time. This is the fourth time BCCI has held a women’s ICC event. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka is holding an ICC event for the first time as a co-host.

The ICC Women’s ODI World Cup is scheduled to start on September 30th, with Australia entering the Indian subcontinent and participating as the competitive defending champion. They won it seven times in tournament history.

India is dealing with a major setback ahead of CWC25 as StarPace is injured

Indian women suffered a major setback just days before the start of the Women’s World Cup 2025 campaign. Starppe was injured during a warm-up match against an English woman at the BCCI Center of Excellence on Thursday.

Arundhati Reddy was injured while bowling in fifth place in the game and had to limp the field. She was then carried in a wheelchair by Physios. The incident occurred during the 13th innings in the UK.

The lady, who was bowling 4.4 overs, was skating while bowling the fifth ball of the overs. In her 4.4 overs, Pacer gave 34 runs and chose the wicket for English opener Amy Jones. Clarity about Reddy’s participation in the World Cup is still awaited.

India was already facing a major setback with a 2-1 defeat in the ODI series against Australia

Just before the start of the World Cup, the Indian women played in the much-anticipated contest with the Australian women on the side of the world champions. This was India’s final series in preparation for the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup.

The first match showed a great performance from the Australian woman. However, Smriti Mandhana, who leads the 100, led to India’s comeback in the series. Mandana was in her perfect best in the series. However, India lost the series at a 2-1 margin.

Injured bowler Renuka Singh has returned to his Indian feature after missing out on action for more than nine months. She played the final game of the series against Australia.

HarmanPreet Kaur Eyes ICC title as Indian Captain

Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is India’s revolutionary captain in limited over cricket. Despite some great cricketers on the women’s side of India, Kaur led success in India’s foreign soil. India won the series in the UK soil in July with the series against England.

India never won an ICC title, but their best result was runner-up in both the ODI and the T20I World Cup. This time they have a great opportunity since the tournament was hosted by India itself.
