Alex Pallow extended his lead before the championship standings after winning his eighth victory in the 2025 IndyCar season.

Sitting on the noble 590 points, the gap in his second place Pato Auward is 121 points that eradicates Auward’s good work in Toronto. He started second, but O’ward went down the order at the stint in the middle of the race. He recovered fourth overall, but the results have significantly hurt his championship hopes.

Palou could still win the championship after Toronto, finishing second in all races to O’ward. This result could potentially be considered short-lived for O’Word to become the 2025 world champion.

Scott Dixon came third in the championship after Kyle Kirkwood continued to finish his season.

The only winner of the season was slowly slipping down the championship standings in the final few races until Dixon won at Midohio.

His poor race at Laguna Seca, originally considered Parou’s main rival, appears to have completely written him down for another year.

Kirkwood finished 16th after avoiding Linus Vekai in 3 turns and 3 and flew a Dutch driver out of the truck.

Sitting at 377 points, Dixon’s fifth-place finish brings him to 392 points in total.

Dixon began the race on the 19th, and through an early pitting strategy, helped by attention, he went through the field and almost beat O’ward.

Christian Landguard is fifth after finishing second, but Kirkwood may start to worry that he will be able to get closer to him at the final stage of the season.

Colton Hertha’s seventh moved Andretti’s driver to seventh place, with Josef Newgarden in 15th place.

Newgarden overtook Kaifin Simpson in the rankings where Felix Rosenqvist punted off the track at the opening of the race.

As a result, Simpson moved from the 14th to the 16th.
