According to Red Devils legend Wayne Rooney, Marcus Rashford is still a Manchester United player and wants to leave a legacy for the club.
Aston Villa signed Rashford on loan in January after immersed in the form in January and struggling to ride the bench under new manager Reuben Amorim.
It remains to be seen whether Rashford will have another chance at Old Trafford once the loan spell is over at Villa Park, but Rooney says the 27-year-old still wants to play for United.
See below as Rooney spoke about Rashford about his critics’ obligations to Villa’s defeat to PSG in the Champions League last night…
Rooney also admitted that the move required this move to Villa to make sure Rashford played regularly.
But in the long run, Rooney still seems to feel that Rashford’s future could return to United.
Will Reuben Amorim give Marcus Rashford another chance for Manchester United?
It’s probably hard to see him betray this decision as Reuben Amorim quickly freed Rashford from United’s team when he took over from Eric Ten Hag.
It is also true that even though Rashford was a quality player of the time, he mostly left the fact that he boiled before this mini iteration with this villa.
There may be risks giving Rashford another chance, especially as Amorim needs to be given the freedom to bring his team together.
The Portuguese tactician was highly regarded for the work he did in Sports Lisbon, but it also takes time and patience.
Even the best managers need to work with a team of players who fit the tactical idea, and Amorim appears to have sent out an early message that he doesn’t think Rashford is part of his plan.
