Everton is set to make major changes to the team this summer, with the arrival of the two likely coming from arch rival Liverpool.
Since David Moet returned to the dugout in January, Toffee has been impressive. They finished the 2024-25 season with three consecutive wins. I hope that this momentum can be taken into the transfer market.
Many positions are addressed. Among them, there are defensive and winger options. And it is believed that the two targets for each of these positions are Joe Gomez and Ben Douaaa.
According to a soccer insider, former scout Mick Brown revealed his interest in Everton’s Gomez and Doak.
“Joe Gomez has always been a player at Liverpool’s ratings. But Connor Bradley is ahead of him and now Frimpong has come in. So where does Gomez leave the peck order?
“There are some Premier League aspects that keep an eye on the situation, and Everton is one of them. That makes a lot of sense because he doesn’t have to move. David Moet wants to add two fullbacks on his side.
“Ben Doak is told similarly. He could be another leaving Liverpool. He has spent his season in the Championship and is clearly a talented player. I hear Everton is watching him too.
“He’s at the door, so those terms aren’t that complicated and requires a winger. Again, it’s a different deal that’s not surprising to see what happens there.
Liverpool is ready for Gomez to leave this summer. This makes sense considering he only appeared 17 times last season. Doak, who also registered a 10-goal donation on Middlesbrough during his loan, will also not rely on Arne Slot. So Everton could sign both.
