Liverpool rejected the Luis Diaz approach from Barcelona earlier this week, but it is still thought there is a possibility that a deal could take place this summer.
Barcelona has Diaz as one of their major transfer targets in the summer as they seek to improve their offensive options after winning the LA La Liga. And in addition to this, Al Nasr has also expressed interest in Colombia International, but for now, Liverpool has not entertained the potential for sales.
However, things can change throughout the summer, depending on how Diaz himself considers his future.
Liverpool may u-turn on decision not to sell Louis Diaz
Speaking to football insiders, transfer expert Pete O’Rourke revealed that Liverpool could consider selling Diaz if Liverpool pushes him to leave this summer.
“They’re signing him now and they’re ongoing, but the only way Louis Diaz will leave this summer is if he’s looking for a move. I don’t think Liverpool is actively pushing him out the door.
“If players may turn their heads at favorable offers from the Saudi league or elsewhere, there is a possibility that something could be opened up potentially, but I don’t think Liverpool has any plans to sell Diaz right now.
For now, Diaz’s situation is more fluid than initial thought, and this seems to give hope to Barcelona and Al Nasr. Given that the 28-year-old only has two years left on his current contract at Anfield, it could depend on the outcome of the ongoing contract situation between the player and the club. In this respect, it could ultimately be a different opening.
