They’ve been linked to a number of big names, including Edwin Diaz, Devin Williams and Pete Fairbanks, but on Thursday, a new name joined the list.
MLB Insider Francis Romero reported that the are one of the teams interested in signing right-handed relief pitcher Raisel Iglesias. The Los Angeles Times confirmed the report and said teams would likely be interested in Iglesias on a short-term contract.
Iglesias, 35, is an 11-year veteran who most recently spent three-plus seasons with the Atlanta Braves. Although he was not named an All-Star, he has been a steady presence in the back of the bullpen for much of the past decade.

Iglesias has played in 600 games and has a 2.90 ERA, but only 21 of those were starts in his first two years in the league. He recorded 253 saves and finished 459 games with 869 strikeouts in 736 regular season innings.
Last season, Iglesias posted a 3.21 ERA in 70 games, his highest end-of-season ERA since 2019. He finished the 2024 season with a 1.95 ERA and the 2023 season with a 2.75 ERA. Across three-plus seasons in Atlanta, he had 97 saves and a 2.35 ERA in 222 games.
Iglesias was not a flamethrower type of pitcher, so his success lasted until late in his career. His four-seam fastball, which averaged 94.8 mph last season, hit just .129.
Iglesias would be a great option for the , or any team that isn’t looking to sign a pitcher at the top of the market long-term. Iglesias just finished a four-year, $58 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels (before being traded to the Braves). Spotrac currently plans to sign him to a two-year, $17.6 million contract this offseason.
