Skip Bayless praised former NBA player Isia Thomas for calling out LeBron James before the LA Lakers game against the Houston Rockets.
The La Lakers held an incredible show, dominating the Houston Rockets with a 140-109 victory, earning the third seed in the Western Conference.
Luka Donsic went on to where he played against the Dallas Mavericks, dropping 39 points on 68.4% shooting from the field, while LeBron James added 14 points in 22 minutes of action.
The 40-year-old left the game early due to an injury. JJRedick confirmed that there was no problem at the postgame press conference.
This was a very important game for the Lakers, and they needed a victory to seal their third seed finish.
Before the game, James had his usual warm-up, shirtless, which didn’t work out with Isaiah Thomas, who called players on NBA TV.
He states:
“We are a professional NBA league, not a summer league, not a YMCA.
“To get in a shirt and go out to the floor before the game, come to the person we are. If you want to fine someone now, Adam Silver, and fine them.”
Bayless has never eschewed the call for James, and often leaves Lakers players with no opportunity to dig into it.
After Thomas defied on the air with criticism of James, Bayless backed him up with an X tweet.
“I loved NBA TV’s Isiah Thomas calling Lebron and saying he should be given a warm shirtless fine.
“You had the courage to spit that truth out. Isia has the courage. And you certainly can’t dismiss Isia as just an old-fashioned Jordanian man,” tweeted Bayless.
As a player in his 22nd year, James has posted some special numbers, but it all depends on his dedication.
However, James has made sure he has his own fun outside of court and continues to work on all social media channels.
He tweeted to X right after the game, which seemed inexplicable, but this could have been his reaction to Thomas.
James tweeted: “I was going to say something, but it’s useless at this point in my career! Anyway, a more important congratulations to JJ for 50 wins in the West & Postseason nod!”
James is used to replies to his critics at court performances, so it remains unclear whether the tweets target Thomas.
The two have no prior history, and it will be interesting to see if more analysts chime with Thomas’ thoughts on criticism.
