Robert Whitaker believes that Jack Della Madarena’s “X Factor” could be sufficient to overcome Islamic Makhachev.
Following an impressive performance against Beral Muhammad at UFC 315, even before the welterweight title was wrapped around his waist, “JDM” knew that his first challenger was Makhachev. There is no official date for the inevitable scrap. Still, the odds maker has already registered “Dagestani Destroyer” at the top, giving him a 2-to-1 odds, winning the second UFC title in many divisions.
While many call Makhachev’s victory over Australia a deserved conclusion, the “grim reaper” doesn’t necessarily see it that way.
In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Whittaker offered his views on the imminent welterweight clash and the possibility that Della Maddalena will snap Makhachev’s 15-match winning streak.
“Islam is able to do everything that Berals do, but it’s much better,” Whitaker said. “Okay, the way, better. And fight, I thought Jack had got it and fought, but it was a fight.
Robert Whitaker is trying to stop de ridder’s momentum in Abu Dhabi
“The Reaper” returns to action on Saturday, July 26th, with the UFC returning to Abu Dhabi for a Fight Night card loaded in Etihad Alena.
In the main event, Whittaker squares by streaking a fresh Dutch sense Renier Dridder from his epic second round TKO with three-time national wrestling champion Bo Nikkal.
The victory came one after moving “RDR” 3-0 within the Octagon, catapulting himself into the top five in the middleweight division.
Whitaker aims to bounce back after suffering a first round submission loss against Kamzachmaev when he was in the UAE last time.
