Giannis Antetokounmpo received a must-see rest as the Milwaukee Bucks rounded out the season.
The Milwaukee Bucks won eight consecutive seasons and finished as the most informed team at the Eastern Conference.
The Bucks took the unlikely hero stepped up with a 140-133 victory over the Detroit Pistons.
Pat Connaughton scored an epic 43 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and five assists.
The first quarter show star was Kyle Kuzma. He only played in the first quarter, but head coach Doc Rivers felt he had proven his points.
Kuzma scored an epic 22 points in the first quarter. Rivers said it was a deliberate game plan to carry out their attacks through him.
Rivers told his press conference:
After Kuzma’s 17 against the Pelican last week, Rivers admitted that “we need to move him.”
Since mid-season trading, Kuzma’s Bucks’ biggest score was the 25-point show. He would have surpassed this if he was allowed to play more than a quarter against the piston on the final day.
However, there was no need to risk injuries to pursue further individual statistics. The Bucks will increase his confidence and allow him to rest for a week while the play-in tournament continues.
Rivers was excited by what he saw from his team throughout the game, but was most cheered by what he saw early on.
He added:
“I loved the way the scum came out in the first half. I loved the first quarter. It was really high-level basketball with 43 points, ball movement. It was great to watch.”
Despite the Bucks’ 43-25 start, the game went overtime before the Bucks finally scored 140-133.
