Indian first bowler Akash Deep was opened up about his recent performance of Mohamed Siraj at Anderson Tendurkal Trophy 2025. Mohammed Siraj provided a breathtaking performance in the fifth final test, helping India beat England with six runs in the oval.

He was heavily responsible for bowling over 185 overs in the Anderson Tendulcal Trophy, but Akashdeep believes Shiraj’s efforts in the UK are not his absolute best. Akash welcomed Siraj’s strong mindset and leadership during the test series.

Deep said that Mohammed Shiraj’s confidence helped other Indian bowlers continue their push.
He said, “Sometimes, the way they hit you with bats, the hits they hit you all over, the way they get hit. It’s not like a T20 where I can bowl yokers or slower things. Sometimes I have doubts.

Wasim Akram says Mohammed Shiraj is no longer supportive of Jaspuri Bamra
Recently, Pakistan’s fast bowling legend Wasim Akram said that Shiraj has grown beyond being a backup bowler for Jaspuri Bumra. Akram said Siraj will be able to lead India’s fast bowling attacks in Test cricket.
Wasim Akram was quoted as saying that Telecom Asia Sports’ “Shiroji was full of hunger and passion. It was an incredible effort.”
