Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaud Courtwa explains that there are two important errors that gave Arsenal great help in last night’s match.
The Gunners won Real Madrid 3-0 at Emirates Stadium, with Declan Rice earning two great free kicks before Mikel Merino added a third.
Although we don’t often see Courtwa becoming so helpless, Rice’s free kick was absolutely fantastic and didn’t give him a chance.
Still, the Belgian shotstopper spoke after the match and said he made a mistake by not letting the extra players into the wall.
In addition to that, Kourtwa suggested defeating Bukayosaka when his previous defender had an unnecessary foul and there was no actual special threat.

Talked to Movistar after the game and as Metro quoted, Courtois took responsibility. I usually put in the extra guys.
“I’m responsible for that. I could have put in the extra guy, but I didn’t think (US) would curl that much.
“The second goal is a great goal, but when there was no danger, they were unnecessary fouls. Perhaps we shouldn’t make those fouls.”
Arsenal fans will certainly feel that whatever Courtwa says about the small game-changing mistakes they are a great team at night and are good value for their victory.
Arsenal could have scored more, but Courtwa made great saves from the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Mikel Merino.
It will be interesting to see if a 3-0 lead proves that Arsenal is enough to enter the second leg at the Bernabéu next week.
The Champions League has a certain aura about Real Madrid at home, and the early goal on Carlo Ancelotti’s part would really test the Arsenal mentality.
