Arsenal legend Martin Keeun made a rather worrying observation ahead of the massive Champions League semi-final clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
The Gunners recently tallied Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals, beating them 5-1. After the results of such a statement, there are fans who are extremely excited by the prospect of winning the competition.
Still, Keown thinks he sees some signs of creeping, especially from William Saliba.
France International is usually a very solid and reliable defender for Arsenal, but he made a mistake with Vinicius Jr. equalizer at the Bernabéu and Jean-Philippe Mateta’s goal at Emirates Stadium last night.
Arsenal looked 2-1 and headed towards a victory, but Crystal Palace punished that sloppy play to grab a 2-2 draw in the end.
Martin Keown is worried about William Saliba’s recent error
Speaking about the duty of critics after the game, as Metro quoted, Keon was clearly worried that he had made another mistake right after the one in Madrid.
“Saliba, if he’s working with him (I’m saying), I think, ‘Don’t turn it off,'” Keon said.
“In the game they played against Real Madrid, the goalkeeper deployed it to him right after scoring.
“Now it’s going on twice in a row, he just needs to be sharp.
“I think it creeped up because Arsenal was just trying to watch the game, not getting hurt was a victory tonight because a huge game is approaching.
Arsenal’s focus is probably more in the Champions League than the Premier League now, so maybe we’ll explain why they weren’t at their best last night.
Still, if they could potentially advance to the Champions League finals past PSG, they should be sharpened quickly.
