Twitter fans responded after Delhi Capitals’ Batter Kl Rahul failed to finish the innings in an ongoing game against the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025.
KL Rahul once again played a different role in the ongoing game with the Chennai Super Kings, confirming that he also delivered as well. The batsman originally assigned the central role was asked to open the inning today.
KL Rahul failed to finish the innings high
This is because Faf du Plessis didn’t play and he encouraged the order. KL Rahul started the innings pretty well and played some great shots in the innings. He took the Delhi Capitals to a decent start and he seemed all ready for a big knock as he batted.
The Delhi Capitals kept losing wickets regularly, but KL Rahul confirmed they were continuing their runflow and helped the team do important runs in the middle over. The Keeper batter brought 50 with just 33 balls, and was expected to unleash himself.
However, this was not the case as KL Rahul failed to finish the innings high. He couldn’t hit the ball, so the batter was a little late afterwards. His ultimate slowness was one of the main reasons why the Delhi Capitals couldn’t make it past 200 runs on the board, and at one stage there was a real possibility.
KL Rahul finished with 77 innings from 51 balls
KL Rahul finished with 77 innings from 51 balls before coming out in the final over. The right-hander was hit with a strike rate of just over 150, denounced six fours and three sixes in the innings. This was also his 50 maidens for the league’s Delhi Capitals.
Apart from him, Abishek Porel (33), Axar Patel (21), Sameer Rizvi (20), and Tristan Stubbs (24*) played key moves. Thanks to collective efforts with bats, the Delhi Capitals have posted a total of 183 runs on the board against the Chennai Super Kings.

KL Rahul was late. 151 Sr Naah Bro. If you are facing more than 50 balls, you must be in SRs of 180 or higher. #kl

KL Rahul was too late today
I think the Delhi management told him to act as an anchor.
But I’m telling you
Ruturaj Gaikwad is going to chase it easily

KL Rahul played a bit slower.
DC appears to be lacking at least 30-40 runs. #cskvdc-Motilal Rajput (@rajputmotilal) April 5, 2025
Intensional drop from Mukesh. Rahul only scored nine runs on his final 10 balls. Ashutosh would certainly have scored 190-195 with the remaining balls.

KL Rahul has a wealth of talent and has all the shots, but his thinking has become a problem. His power game may not be where he once was, but it’s the way of thinking that most of them have pulled him down.

Well done, KL Rahul. 🫡
-77 (51) is 6 four, and 3 six. In a great inning for KL, he opened today and shot a great hand for the Delhi Capitals. pic.twitter.com/0kty7azg25

It was so refreshing to see KL Rahul playing free-flowing cricket, slamming bowlers like Noor and Jadeja with Chepauk for six seconds. Giving up as captain made him an offensive batsman.
