Ja Morant is similar to Allen Iverson, not only about his talent, but also about his reputation in the NBA.
Ja Morant has become a very polarized person in the NBA. Uber-Talented Point Guard is one of the most exciting players in the league.
However, JA has his problem and is especially out of court. The Grizzlies star has been in a lot of trouble as he swings his firearms around on multiple occasions.
And a year after he was acting his best, fans are worried that Morant might be back to his old ways. In fact, his recent gun-related celebrations put him in hot water.
Stephen A. Smith believes it is fair that JA is being investigated. Another former Grizzlies star called out Morant with his antics.

Jeff Teague spoke on his Club 520 podcast. He pointed out that the NBA will take action against Ja Morant. The previous All-Star looked at how Allen Iverson was treated by the NBA.
Iverson was a great player, but he regularly downplayed the NBA rules. So he never showed the right respect and did not play as long as he should have.
“You know they’re going to try to make him Iverson. When you loved Iverson – when everyone loved Iverson, they started trying to identify bad s*** for him.”
“He has a screw knot for that. Isn’t it a way that Allen Iverson only played 12-13 years? They started identifying what we didn’t like about him, and the media did.
“Already, he’s like dropping out of grace with people. People are starting to take him out of the top 10 point guard. Do you know what I mean?”
“(They don’t even talk about him) and he’s one of the best players in the NBA, not the best players. All of this is really nothing, as you’re seeing the other 25 players doing this and everything.”

Ja Morant is as talented as he does, and it seems he can’t get out of his own way. In fact, the young star appears to be out of his way to interfere with itself.
You can understand the first violation. But at this point, Morant is a recurring criminal. And considering how many times he was punished, it’s impossible to even say that he doesn’t realize the outcome.
Additionally, he actively downplayed the NBA by ignoring the warnings and continuing to celebrate inappropriately.
Should those celebrations be considered unnecessary? That’s a matter of debate. However, Morant did not benefit himself by continuing his reckless actions.
