La Lakers’ new signature Jake Laravia has nominated one of the surprises he’s ever met on his team.
The Lakers made three important signatures in the free agency, adding Jay Claravia, Marcus Smart and DeAndre Eton.
Smart is a former NBA champion and defensive player of the year, and Ayton is the former number one overall pick.
Although Laravia doesn’t have a pair of pedigrees, he’s an exciting addition, with JJ Redick saying it’s a “incredible opportunity” to sign young prospects.
Jake Laravia spoke with reporters following the second day of La Lakers training camp, noting that there was one player he was surprised.
Laravia admitted that the Jarred Vanderbilt shooting surprised him.
Now, from what Laravia saw from Vanderbilt, he changes his rating and pays homage to the improvements of the players.
He said: “Yeah, I mean it’s gotten so much better. I know early in my career, we didn’t respect him as a shooter, but it’s safe to say he can shoot the ball very well now.
“I don’t know if he tweaked anything, but yeah, it looks really good now.”
There was one player who never surprised Jake Laravia and La Lakers superstar Luka Donsic.
Laravia said there was some adjustment on his part, but he’s excited to team up with the Slovenians.
“I’m still used to being on the same side as him, but that would make my life so easy to play with someone like that.”
Seeking for more insight into Donsic, Laravia said his talent was impossible to ignore.
“He’s extremely talented. He’s taking one foot shot. He’s Luka. There’s nothing more to say. He’s really good.”
