Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are running through the same picks they made for Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano, but this time they have a million dollars.
Prior to the fight last November, Paul was supporting Serrano, competing for his most valuable promotion, but Tyson gave Taylor his support after proclaiming how much “Iron Mike” meant to his boxing career. Eventually, Paul defeated Tyson by decision, and Taylor won his second victory over Serrano, the most seen female boxing match in history.
Now, Taylor and Serrano are scheduled to meet again this Friday in the Netflix trilogy, with Paul calling Tyson to make a friendly bet on the fight.
“A lot of people say that the fight between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor was better than ours,” Paul told Tyson. “They are fighting again this weekend.”
Tyson quickly pipes and says he “gets Katie,” so Paul decides to bet on the former heavyweight boxing champion.
“It’s okay, we’ll bet,” Paul said. “If Katie wins, you get a million dollars. If Amanda wins, I get a million. Okay, let’s do it.”
Tyson agrees to the bet and tells Paul that if Taylor wins he is borrowing dinner just to place a bit more bet.
Taylor and Serrano are engaged in two best boxing matches of all time, but Taylor has made decisions in both contests. The first fight actually led to Taylor’s promoter Eddie Hearn from Matchroom Boxing filing a lawsuit against Paul after Hearn claimed that the fighter had “bribeed” one of the judges.
Paul eventually filed his own countersuit, but they eventually became lenient in the lawsuit that came to a friendly end in a settlement agreement filed in March.
Despite the controversial relationship, Paul and Hearn still work together to promote Taylor vs Serrano 2, and do the same with Taylor vs Serrano 3 on Friday’s card. It will air on Netflix when the 8pm main card kicks off from Madison Square Garden in New York.
