Jalen Brunson offers a reality check to his New York Knicks teammates.
The New York Knicks ultimately ended the drought at the Eastern Conference Finals during the 2025 NBA playoffs.
After all, it was the first time in 25 years that the Knicks reached the final round at the meeting despite the Knicks suffering from defeat.
Ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season, superstar Jalen Brunson shared two cents about the Knicks’ growth in recent years.
Whether you like him or not, it’s fair to give Tom Thibodeau credit for turning the Knicks around during his five-year stint.
The Knicks have made four appearances in five seasons since missing out on the playoffs in seven seasons. But even if Thibodeau is fired, Branson believes the Knicks are in a good place.
“I think we’ve been taking stable steps every year. The biggest part of our team is the chemistry we’ve grown and what we’ve created,” Branson told Gameshub.
He added:
There were rumours about the Knicks’ lack of interstellar chemistry, but JB put them down with a solid response.

With the East getting weaker than the 2025-26 NBA season, it’s natural for Knicks fans to not only repeat the success of their final campaign, but also raise hopes of lifting the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
But Branson should not make any major mistakes, so he gave a reality check on his Knicks teammates.
“Hopefully we won’t be able to enter the season and just go back to the Eastern Conference Finals.
“We need to go through this process again, continue to improve and be able to fight to get through that hum,” Branson said.
Don’t forget that the Knicks hired Mike Brown as their new head coach. And it may take a little while for the player to get used to his tactics.
So, as Branson said, the Knicks are unable to take their feet off the gas, regardless of their performance last season.
