Jalen Williams issued a strange message ahead of the 2025 NBA Finals against the Indiana Pacers.
The Oklahoma City Thunder is a massive favorite to lift the Larry O’Brien Trophy in the 2025 NBA Finals.
They face off against the Tyrees Halliburton-led Indiana Pacers who are running the offseason for Cinderella after eliminating the New York Knicks in the Conference Finals.
Thunder is at least a better team on paper, but many are rooting for them. There are many reasons behind it, but Thunder All-Star Jalen Williams appears to be ignoring his critics.
The 2025 NBA playoffs mark the second time Williams has played in the postseason, but he has already become an easy target to criticize the current OKC roster.
At just 24 years old, there’s no doubt that Williams spent several off-nights in the postseason, facing a massive Flak from fans of the same thing.
However, the 2025 NBA All-Star recently showed his solid mentality through an Instagram post that has a message to his critics.
“Your booing means nothing to me. I’ve seen what your people cheer for…” Williams writes.
It is unclear whether Williams is referring to the Minnesota Timberwolves fanbase or the entire NBA community, but it is certain that J-Dub is taking part in the 2025 NBA Finals with one goal.
When the 2025 playoffs began, no one expected Pacer to be the final team in the Eastern Conference.
However, the Pacers are taking advantage of their opponents’ underestimating them as they have only four wins since winning the NBA Championship.
That said, it seems Williams and Thunder don’t make this mistake. This was evident in the way J-Dub spoke about the pacers during the practice media session.
“They play fast. It’s something that burns their entire identity. And they’re really talented. They’re very confident and we’re coming with confidence, so it should be really fun,” Thunderstar said.
As Williams said, the upcoming series between the two sides has all the material that will be a great contest for fans. Both teams are talented enough to win the first championship in franchise history.
