Los Angeles outfielder James Outman reportedly began wearing glasses, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register.
Utility man Kiké Hernández and third baseman Max Muncy have a success story due to the new frame, as Outman looks like this after being recalled from Triple A Oklahoma City.

Hernandez began wearing glasses just around the corner of the All-Star break last season. After a conversation about his first half struggle with friend/veteran catcher Martin Maldonado, Hernandez saw a doctor about his vision and was diagnosed with astigmatism in his right eye.
Until the first half of 2024, Hernandez was batting a terrible .191 with .557 OPS in 71 games. However, after an All-Star break, the utility man increased his production to the .274/.307/.458 slash line in his last 55 appearances.
This helped Hernandez hit .294 with the .808 OPS in October, securing the franchise’s eighth championship.
Meanwhile, Muncy launched its 2025 campaign, which was a hit .180 in its first 28 games. During this period, the third baseman had 34 strikeouts and no home runs.
Finally, in Game No. 29 of the season, Muncie wore prescription sunglasses and launched his first Long Ball of the Year.
Since then, Muncy has hit .287/.414/.575 and has been hit with .989 OPS with 13 home runs in 53 games. Unfortunately, the All-Star was part of a horrifying clash last Wednesday, when he landed on the list injured with bone bruises.
Muncy and Hernández are currently stints on the injured list, but that doesn’t stop Outman from wearing glasses at the major league level.
It is unclear exactly when Outman began wearing new frames, but the 28-year-old has cut .289/.378/.592 with a .970 OPS on the Triple-A this season.
