Former Liverpool star Jamie Carrager has apparently started side gigs as a forwarding news journalist!
Gary Neville teased Carager by calling him “Fabrizio Romano” after his fellow critics made big claims to Arsenal’s story about Ollie Watkins from January.
There were a lot of reports at the time that Arsenal saw Watkins’ bid being rejected, but Karager says Villa actually contacted Gunners about the deal.
See below as Pandit discussed the Watkins saga in today’s episode of overlap.
Ultimately, Villa appears to have been open to doing business with Watkins, but Arsenal simply didn’t provide enough money to England International.
As a result, it appears that Villa has decided to sell John Duran instead.
Ollie Watkins missed Arsenal transfer
It’s important to feel Watkins here, especially since the players themselves have spoken publicly about being an Arsenal fan before, it must be hard to miss such a big move.
The 29-year-old is great for Villa and I imagine he could make an impact at a bigger club like Arsenal.
But at his age, I imagine this is probably Watkins’ last chance to get such a big move.
Villa fans are happy to keep Watkins up, but he should still be an important part of this exciting unai Emery side.
