Jan Blachowicz doesn’t say it was taken away at UFC London, but it’s not do not have Both say it.
Last Saturday, Blachowicz squared Carlos Ulberg in the UFC London co-main event. It was closely related to the inability of either fighter to assert itself for 15 minutes, but in the end, all three judges saw 29-28 at Ulberg. It was a huge loss for the former light heavyweight champion who had not raised his hand in the last three fights, and he didn’t completely dispute the decision, but in a statement released Monday, Brakovic threw shade at the results on Saturday.
“This camp was one of the best I had. I missed every part of this game. The welcome and support of Fight Week UFC London from the entire UFC team was amazing.
“There’s more controversy about the record as it turns out that the approach to a critical strike doesn’t really follow the meaning. I’ll leave a verdict for discussion. I’m pretty grateful for what happened in the stands after the announcement and what’s happening online, but the verdict is there, but unfortunately it stays on my record. #LegendaryPolishPower.”
Certainly there was fan backlash on Saturday, but it’s hard to tell if the fans are more upset about the unshiny battle than the decision. MMA media was also split into decisions and was most preferred. It’s a bit more comfortable for Brakovich, despite giving competitive performances against two top light heavyweights in the world, Magom Doan Karaev and Alex Pereira.
