PARIS – Top-ranked Jannik Sinner’s overwhelming run went through the French Open and moved to the semi-finals with a 62nd place Alexander Bublik 6-1, 7-5, 6-0 victory on Wednesday.

Thinner, who lost to champion Carlos Alcaraz in the Final Four at Roland Garros a year ago, needed just an hour and 49 minutes to advance against Bablik, who confused No. 5 Jack Draper in the previous round.

Sinner has not given up on the set yet – he’s only dropped 36 games in five games in the last 15 weeks. He then played Clean-Be Tennis against Bublik, who had made his major quarterfinal debut.

“I’m very pleased with how I arrived in the semi-finals,” said Thinner.

He is better known for his incredible touches and trick shots, but Bublik converted some drop shots from his bag of tricks after 10 matches, but the sinner won.

“We’ve already played each other a few times, so we already knew what to expect a bit,” Thinner said. “But on other side, I don’t know how he will play.

“…I tried to focus on my side of the court. He could have some ups and downs, so I was trying to play as solid as possible, so I needed to be consistent throughout the game.”

The next after the Sinner will be Friday’s semi-finals against 24-time major champion Novak Djokovic.

The other men’s semi-finals will be Alcalaz, the second against the 8th Lorenzo Musetti. They won the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old Thinner is a three-time Grand Slam champion. This includes last year’s US Open and this year’s Australian Open, which marked his consecutive win with the Majors to 19 games.

He was the first man from Italy and reached the six slam semi-finals.

Associated Press and field-level media contributed to this report.
