The secret of what was wrong for Lewis Hamilton can only be explained by those who know him personally.
It’s the verdict of former F1 veteran Giarno Turri, who has seen Hamilton’s Ferrari struggle from Italy.
The famous Italian team hasn’t seen Lewis Hamilton’s best team since joining from Mercedes earlier this year.
Several theories have bounced as to why seven-time driver champions rarely even threaten the podium this season.
“Is it age? A car? Is it missing something in the team? Or maybe he’s just reaching his limit,” Trulli told Gazzetta Dello Sport.
“It’s so weird, it’s as if he’s having a hard time coming out. In qualifying, he got a little better in the race but doesn’t shine. This isn’t like Hamilton.
“The truth is that only he knows what’s going on through his mind.”
“Lewis Hamilton doesn’t seem to be able to give Ferrari anything.”

Truli, Vettel, Hamilton in 2007
Hamilton gave a dark interview at the F1 Hungary Grand Prix after insisting that Ferrari should replace him.
His oppressed body language raised concerns that he could even quit F1 early.
Martin Brandle is one of those who question whether he can hack more fights.
Truli even questioned whether Ferrari benefits from his presence.
“Now I don’t think Hamilton can give anything to Ferrari,” he said.
“But there’s no certainty about the future. Only those who talk to Lewis can understand what’s going on with him.”
Trulli drove in Formula 1 and 252 Grands Prix for 15 years, crossing the path with the young and gorgeous Hamilton.
But now, 40-year-old Hamilton looks far from his peak.
The eight-driver championship didn’t look very unlikely as it brutally missed out at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
At least next year, the F1 2026 rules offer fresh chapter hopes.
