With Indian cricket set to enter the transition phase, Jasplit Bumra destroyed the silence in his retirement plan after Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin called up time in his test careers. Kohli and Rohit continue to play ODI, but Ashwin retired from international cricket as the duo now retired from both Test and T20IS.

One question comes around between fans and cricket experts after the trio’s retirement. It is whether Jaspuri’s Bumra will follow suit, given the history of his injuries, in one of at least three forms. The 31-year-old Pacer is the backbone of India’s pace attacks.

Jasprit Bumrah opens up about his smarter career plan

Bumrah may have lifted the T20 World Cup trophy so far, but he is well aware that playing non-stop cricket costs him. He now reveals he is taking a smarter approach to managing his body and career.

I’m fine, but I don’t set goals: JaspritBumrah

Well, Jaspuri’s Bumra keeps things simple when it comes to the future of cricket. The fast bowler emphasized that he has not chased numbers or set long-term goals.

The fast bowler said he knows it’s time to leave when his body starts to struggle or hunger to play fade, but up until then he wants to do his best every time.

He said, “In this moment I’m fine. But I don’t set goals like this. I’m watching it at once. So far, the journey is going well, but the drive is gone, or the effort is not there, my body can’t stand it, that’s when you make a decision.”
