Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah is well known for creating history in the game and this time he achieved another milestone by playing 50 matches for India across all formats.
India, who secured a draw in their away Test tour to England, are currently enjoying a big performance in the home Test series against West Indies. India have two matches against them and they started with a resounding victory in the first Test in Ahmedabad.
The victory was underpinned by a dominant performance by the Indian batsmen on the first day of the second Test at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. Yashasvi Jaiswal led the Indian innings with an incredible 100, followed by Sudarsan in a supporting role.

Jasprit Bumrah sets new record for India in 50th Test match
Amidst the success of the Indian team, legendary pacer Jasprit Bumrah set a new record by representing India in the second Test match against West Indies. Jasprit Bumrah will be playing his 50th Test match in his career.
With this latest feat, he became the first Indian pacer to play more than 50 Test matches in any format of the game. Even legendary Indian cricketers like Kapil Dev, Zaheer Khan, Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh could not reach the milestone as there was no T20I cricket in their era.

Jasprit Bumrah was rested for the Australia ODIs. Eyes on T20I World Cup in 2026
The ace Indian pacer has been selected for the upcoming tour of Australia as he has been selected to play only in the shortest format of the game. Recently, he spearheaded India’s pace attack as part of the Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2025.
Bumrah will not be available for the upcoming tour to Australia due to workload management. He had played in the England series and the Asia Cup and was currently also part of the West Indies home series. Aiming to participate in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 scheduled to be held in India, they have chosen to play in the shortest format.
India, the defending champions from 2024, will be gearing up to defend their title in home conditions, marking their first World Cup campaign under new head coach Gautam Gambhir.
Sai Sudarsan misses out on a well-deserved 100 in the second test.
Indian batsman Sai Sudarsan, who plays the longest format of the game for India, was not at his best during India’s tour of England. He played six matches on tour and left his mark, scoring 140 runs with just half a century.
Despite his poor form, he was given the opportunity to play in the home series against West Indies. However, they were not able to perform as expected in Ahmedabad, which they are used to.
Coming into the second Test, Sudarsan performed well, scoring the second half-century in his Test career. He was instrumental in a huge partnership with Centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, just before his maiden Test hundred, he was dismissed by Jomel Warrican for being trapped in front of the stumps.
