Chetan Sharma, former chairman of the Indian National Cricket Team Pacer and the Committee for Cricket (BCCI) Selector, shares his views on the situation of Jaspuri’s Bamra, which has become a lot of talk.
Chetan Sharma protected Jasprit Bumrah from criticism of his workload management strategy, saying Pace Spearhead follows the orders of the medical team.
If our Physios tells players to manage their workloads, I think we should listen – Chetan Sharma from Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah is undoubtedly the best bowler in the world at the moment, and India is fortunate to have his caliber pace on his team.

However, he faces a fierce rebound due to limited availability in the recent 5-match Test series against the Indian National Cricket Team.
Before heading for the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy, Jasprit Bumrah told the BCCI Select Committee that only three matches will be available to avoid injuries and manage the workload.
Jasprit Bumrah played his first, third and fourth games, bowling 119.4 overs and picking 14 wickets. Despite his good contributions, India did not win the match played by Jasprit Bumrah, and he angered the fans and cricket fraternity as he missed the final test of the series.
While many people questioned Bamra’s commitment to the team, Chetan Sharma lends support to Pace’s Spearhead. He said the medical team and Physios are the best judges and players should strictly follow their advice.
“If the medical team advises, if the doctor says he has to take antibiotics, I have to consume them. If our Physios tells players to manage their workload, I think they should listen to them because they are better judges,” Indian Express quoted Doordarshan.
I’m really proud of the way India played for the UK – Chetan Sharma
Under the captain of Shubman Gill, India painted a five-match Test series against England 2-2, and Chetan Sharma was impressed by the team’s performance.
Chetan Sharma said he was very proud of the efforts of the young Indian team and helped them win the Asian Cup 2025 title.
“We know that the chosen one will be the best for the country, and the kind of cricket we play now is truly proud of the way India played in the UK.
“When you’re playing the World Cup in your own backyard, it’s a huge thing. If your intentions are correct, the results will be good,” Sharma added after the event.

Look, it leaves what they see to the selectors – Chetan Sharma of India’s Asian Cup team
The Indian team for the Asian Cup 2025 is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, August 19th. When asked to share his thoughts on whether to choose Shevmangill, Chetan Sharma said that it depends on the selector and they should name the best 15 players on the team.
“Look, it depends on the selector what they are seeing. I’m not the chairman (of the selector) so my opinion is not important. So I say you need to choose the best team possible. Even if the top 15 and top 30 are selected, they are all very good.
