The Golden State Warriors are getting opportunities for potentially undrafted prospects.
Once Summer League is over, NBA teams are starting to fill their rosters and add players to their development teams.
And the Golden State Warriors have yet to sign players in free agency, but have added to the G-League team, the Santa Cruz Warriors.
Jaxenmoni was signed up after a stint with the San Antonio Spurs in the Summer League.
He confirmed the move in an interview with the Bison 1660 and provided updates to followers who played college ball in North Dakota.
Jaxen Moni explained that he has signed up for the Golden State Warriors Developmental System and is excited by the opportunity.
Moni explained: “I play basketball for the Warriors G-League team at Santa Cruz. I’m pretty excited… being in this position is a dream.”
When asked about how the deal went, he explained that he felt the opportunity was the best for him.
Moni said: “I talked to the head coach and before that I spoke to the agent. He said this was the best for me. With our playing style in mind, they’re looking for a big guy, shooting and promoting the three.
Speaking of the honor of being able to develop in the Warriors system, he added: “You can also say about the Warriors culture, that is, you’re talking about a team that grew up in the basketball game. This is a team from the 2010s and has a core piece.
The Golden State Warriors smartly used the Santa Cruz development system last season, with two-round draft pick Quentin Post starting the season, then shaping the spot in their first team rotation and appearing in the NBA playoffs.
Former Knicks draft pick Kevin Knox signed a contract with Santa Cruz to try and recover his career, playing in minutes for Golden State.
Jacksen Moni is a 6-foot-10 forward who averaged 20.6 points per game for North Dakota State last season. He averaged 5.6 rebounds per game, shooting 50.8% from the field and 40.8% from the 3-point range.
Moni played four games in the Summer League for the San Antonio Spurs, but these two were very limited. He averaged 5.5 points in the two full games he played.
Moni, 22, is a pick-up for the warriors that is raw potential, and is now trying to lock him up, depending on the Santa Cruz coaching staff led by Rain Wilson.
