Jean Silva Anticipates Early Retirement for Bryce Mitchell After UFC 314: 'He's Going to Have Some Brain Damage'
SHARE

Bryce Mitchell may have to wear gloves following his scraps with Jean Silva on Saturday.

One of the most anticipated battles in UFC 314 is a thrilling grenade match in Miami, where two featherweight standouts spread. Mitchell has won huge criticism over the past few months, especially after getting someone who wanted to fish in the first episode of the Arkansanity Podcast, particularly called Adolf Hitler “The Good Man.”

Following the fourth straight knockout in the octagon in February, Silva cited Mitchell’s ignorant comment as a key motive for his request, calling for a clash with “the thugs’ nasty.” A few days later, UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that the two would meet at “305.”

Touching media members on Wednesday’s UFC 314 Media Day, Silva spoke about Mitchell’s catastrophic knockout loss to Josh Emmett in 2023, suggesting that with similar results, “thugs” might need to strongly consider early retirement.

“He fought Ilia Toplia,” Silva said. “He beat Edson Barboza and Dan Ige. Everything was going well until Josh Emmett knocked him out. I think he really ruined his brain and his emotions.

“So the fight will go, he will try to defeat me, I will defend. I will try to throw some shots into his head and maybe knock him out first and second.

Jean Silva dismisses the complaint that Mitchell treated him like “total s ***”

Before Silva had his turn with the Media, Mitchell doubled his belief that the “Lord” was obsessed with the Devil, and accused him of treating him “like a Total Shu*t” in the weeks leading up to their battle.

Silva immediately laughed at Mitchell’s complaints. He has no problem with his opponent as a fighter, but in the way he expresses controversial and often unseen opinions;

“I never downplayed him as a fighter,” Silva said. “His skills and abilities were fighting really tough guys in the UFC, but they actually make me terrible.

“He talks a lot about God, but that doesn’t make sense to me because he wears a t-shirt with a god with a gun around him. That’s a lot of contradiction.”
