Jean Silva is recovering after an unfortunate UFC loss.
At the Noche UFC event on Saturday, Silva lost to featherweight competitor Diego Lopez by a second round knockout. It was the first time in Silva’s career, losing to KO/TKO and his first loss since 2018. Before the set-off, Silva was 5-0 in the UFC, but his victory didn’t run the distance.
Lopez caught Silva with a spinning back elbow in the Fateful Round 2, rocking Silva, eventually urging umpire Mike Bertran to leave the match after Lopez continued his hard punch. Silva initially protested the suspension and then swinged at Lopez following the end of the match.
On Sunday, Silva issued a statement in Instagram story to address the loss.
“Unfortunately, yesterday, emotions made me better,” Silva said in Portuguese (English translation by Championship Round). “I watched a lot in the second round, but I hurried in just wanting to throw it away.”
After being grounded in round one and nearly finished, Silva fought back in second, showing off his signature strike stylist, leading to several hard punches. However, it was the rope that ultimately brought the blow to the point.
Looking back, Silva blames for his lack of rest.
“I ended up fighting alone, I wasn’t connected to my team,” Silva said. “So, all responsibility for this loss is mine.”
Silva’s defeat is the latest set-off for the fighting nerd team, with Kaio Borallho and Mauriciolafi also showing an impressive winning streak at UFC Paris last weekend. The outcome is that teams will be scrutinized and their candidates will be questioned.
Such a story has not escaped Silva’s notice, but he promises that his team will bounce back from their losses. together.
“One thing you guys were right is the battle nerds lost three in a row,” Silva said. “So the three of us must have made similar mistakes. So certainly I, Kaio and Raffy will hold a meeting. I will understand this and improve it.
