Former NBA player Jeff Teague has expressed his opinion on which teams will represent the Western Conference in the 2025 NBA Finals.
This season’s Western Conference is closer to the definition of the word “competitive.” Certainly, Oklahoma City’s lightning sits at the top of the rankings.
However, even with a 64-14 record, Thunder is not invincible. This was proven during a recent game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Despite the Thunder being a heavy favorite, it was the Lakers who shocked them with their 27-point blow.
The Lakers’ dominant victory was enough to remind fans that no matter how good the team is throughout the 82 regular season games, it only takes four off nights to return to the postseason.
After seeing the Lakers neutralize Shy Gilgauss-Alexander and take full control of the lightning, former NBA player Jeff Teague gave his verdict on a potential Western Conference team reaching the final.
“The Lakers are going to win the West. I saw LeBron explaining their rotation. “Man, if LeBron can do that in four-quarters, I’m going to win.”
“They got two offensive juggernauts. Three truly “Cos Austin Reeves can go for 20, 30 nights. Everyone got that three pieces.
He said, “I like the Lakers (but) I’m not a Lakers fan.”
Teague made a very convincing statement about the Lakers’ potential. After all, Luka Doncic, Lebron James and Austin Reaves combined for 69 points in a 126-99 victory over OKC.
After an eventful weekend, things shook somewhat among the top three teams at the meeting. OKC remains a clear No. 1 seed, but the Houston Rockets have a record of 52-27. In other words, it has been mostly confirmed to be the second seed.
The Lakers currently move around are 48-30 and currently hold the third species. Meanwhile, following a four-game losing streak, the Denver Nuggets skated to the fourth seed with a 47-32 record.
But that’s just the top four teams in the West. All teams from the fifth to eighth seed currently have a 46-32 record.
With most teams still having four games left, the final stretch of the regular season could lead to a major change in the Western rankings.
