In a two-day test at Jerez, Honda Worldsbk’s Xavi Vierge tried out the new rear swing arm and came to a positive conclusion.
The private Gerres test was shortened due to high afternoon temperatures at Honda, but Birge was able to focus on new parts that arrived.
Most notably, the new swingarms that had a quick impact.
“It was a productive test,” Xavi Vierge said at the end of the second day at Geres.
“We were able to try out a few things, so we focused on them. The new Swingarm quickly provided a better feeling.
“We noticed improved contacts in the rear, which will help you stop the bike and enter corners more effectively.
“I think we still need to adapt further to make the bike setup more potential, and our weakness remains the exit of the corner. It’s a small but positive step.
“We were lucky to find very good conditions. The track provided good grips. However, the very high temperatures in the afternoon made it difficult to collect useful feedback. When we returned here in October, the conditions could be different.
“So we finished what was a very useful session at lunch on the second day.”
It is likely that Vierge with Honda was the last Jerez test. The Japanese Mark confirmed at the end of the year that the Spaniards will leave the world’s superbike team after four seasons.
Vierge’s 2026 destination has not yet been announced, but he is linked to the Go Eleven Ducati sheet set to empty by Andrea Iannone.
