Jiri Prochazka enjoyed Alex Pereira winning Really I enjoyed Magomed Ankalaev losing at UFC 320.

Two important light heavyweight fights took place in Las Vegas on Saturday, with Pereira regaining the UFC title with Ankaraev’s fast knockout in the main event, while Pro Chazka scored a comeback KO for Khalil Lone Tree early in the evening. After his fight, Prochazka was seated in the crowd and seemed emotional when Pereira cleared Ankaraev in just 80 seconds.

Pereira and Pro Chazuka share gold and cage on the line twice, with Pereira both at the top. At an evening postwar press conference, Prochazuka was asked why he saw him win with his longtime rival and why he had such an emotional response.

“You know, win, lose, win, lose, everyone, Alex and his team, Glover Teisheira and all of these people have a good relationship with them,” Prochazka said. “I wanted to beat him because I’ve had this bullshit that Ankarayev brought before, and he’s talked about himself, and about others. So I was happy to see Alex, who is really angry, moving forward to Ankarayev.

Prochazka did not specify exactly what his problem was with Ankalaev, but it could have something to do with Ankalaev’s social media presence.

Looking at the response to Prochazka’s main event, what Pereira has won is that it is likely that Pereira will stop him from fighting for the title next, as he is already 2-0 in the series. Still, Prochazka is optimistic about his chances for a title fight.

“Yes, I believe I’m in a position to get the belt,” Prochazka said. “That doesn’t matter. I’ll find a way.”

“I’ll take all these two fights and not repeat what I’ve learned and my mistakes,” he added when asked what to change for Pereira’s trilogy match. “I’ll be better. I’ll find a way.”

Top light heavyweight candidate Carlos Ulberg was also attending T-Mobile Arena. Ulberg is currently on nine consecutive battle wins, closing with a knockout from Dominic Reyes at UFC Perth last weekend, and it appears he is in front of the competitor’s line.

It is unclear whether Ulberg will face Pereira or perhaps half of the matches with the vacant title will move to heavyweight to chase the third title. If Prochazka, who won the 205-pound championship at UFC 275 in 2022, is asked to stand across from Ulberg, he is ready.

“I just want to fight for the title,” Prochazuka said. “No matter who it is.”
