JJ Redick believes Luka Doncic’s tough night against Mavericks could potentially be a catalyst for a big playoff run.
The Los Angeles Lakers were fantastic in their victory against the Dallas Mavericks. In a highly anticipated game, the Lakers stepped up on a massive scale.
It was a night completely dedicated to Luka Donsic. Donsic was visibly moved by the Mavericks video homage to him.
He used those feelings to drop a cathartic 45-point piece that felt like a healing ritual. After the game, Donsic asked Mavericks fans to move on as they were focused on the Lakers.
However, JJ Redick hopes that tonight’s impact will make for the team, and believes the Lakers have taken another step towards playing a deep playoff run.

JJ Reddick spoke after his 112-97 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers’ Dallas Mavericks. When talking about Luka Doncic’s tough night, Redick offered an interesting perspective.
He pointed out that the way the Lakers bonded tonight was an incredible sight to be seen. And one of his assistant coaches believes this can serve as a bonding experience when heading for a difficult playoff run.
“It can bring you together. You never know. The NBA is a whim… because the moment was happening, (we) fought back some emotions.”
“Greg (St. John) told me, “This is great for our group. To experience this with him and he goes through this with them.”
“Is that what we’re going to do is win the NBA Championship or reach the final of the conference? I don’t know. But it was a great moment for everyone.”

Luka Doncic spoke about the support he gained from his Los Angeles Lakers teammates after the game. He pointed out that everyone from the players to the coaching staff has his back.
“They all had my back. That’s what we talked about before the game. Everyone had my back. From coaches to players. We’re trying to make something special here.
Luka Donsic felt he was heavily downplayed by the Mavericks in the aftermath of trade. It’s good to see him in a supportive environment.
He published encouragement from his teammates to his game-winning performance. Even LeBron James believes Luka Donsic will be good for them in the playoffs.
