Joan Mir was not complaining about the company pass by former teammate Mark Marquez.
“No, no, no! It’s completely within limits and it’s difficult to overtake here,” Mir later told Motogp.com.
“Sometimes we have to do this type of overtaking because if we don’t, we don’t. And now our engines are a little powerful. So even these short straights are hard to overtake with just a slipstream.
“There’s nothing to say about it. It’s true that I lost a lot of time. And for himself he lost a lot of time too. But this is a race, we did a good show.
“So tomorrow I hope he can get the block through, let’s take a look!”
Saturday was the most successful day at the 2020 MotoGP champion RCV, starting between the second in qualifying – the factory Ducatis.
Mir then lost contact with Francesco Bagnaia and KTM’s Pedro Acosta at the start of the sprint, but he was able to hug Marquez for the rap after the rap.
#93 looked tattered when he ran a few big runs, but Mir tried to pass twice by reducing the apex.

However, as they extracted everything they could from the rear tire, the meal became more and more vulnerable. #93 eventually launched his Desmocesici inside the hairpin and forced him to succumb to Mir as they both ran a lot on five laps.
I hope that Mir’s podium isn’t completely over, and Acosta is struggling with grips too. However, the KTM rider was able to keep just 0.7s out of reach.
“To be honest, when you have a podium nearby, I have something inside me. I’m not 100% satisfied!” Mir, who has never had a podium since Suzuki in 2021, told MotoGP.com.
“But I’m happy because after the circumstances I’ve lived in for the past few years and I’ve finally managed to put together some nice things, which makes me feel incredibly bad,” he said.
“We fought so hard. I enjoyed it so much. Anything I can do tomorrow will be a gift.”
Will Mir be another candidate for the podium tomorrow?
“Podium candidate, yes, but it’s difficult,” he said.
“We lost some time to Pedro in passing from Mark, and I think that was the issue of not being able to fight Pedro and for the podium in the end.
“But anyway, it was fun being able to compete for the podium, despite it being a race I was always pushing at 120%.
“In the end, I had nothing left, the tires were cooked, but that feels great.”
HRC teammate Lucamarini finished in 7th place.
The rider is expected to switch from soft rear to medium rear for the full-length Grand Prix.
