According to TelecommunicationsNewcastle has begun discussions with Brighton and Hove Albion about Joanne Pedro’s potential transfer.
Magpies’ interest in the 23-year-old forward was inspired by Brentford’s failure to pursue Brian Mbemo, and hopes the deal can close quickly. However, Brighton is not expected to reduce the £60m demand for Pedro, which is still three years left on his AMEX contract.
The fact that Brighton has already signed another striker at Charalanposcostouras indicates that Pedro could in fact be allowed to leave, but Newcastle has not earned their hopes high as other Premier League clubs are closely monitoring the situation at this point.
In 2024/25, Pedro scored 10 goals and produced seven assists in 30 appearances in all Segal competitions. Apparently, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe was keen to sign him from Watford in 2022, but the club landed Alexander Isaac.
