Joe Johnson saw a potential Giannis Antetocompo in the San Antonio Spurs trade.
The San Antonio Spurs currently have one of the brightest futures in the NBA. After all, they have consecutive Rookie of the Year winners at Victor Wenbagnama and Stefon Castle.
But that’s not all. The Spurs landed their second overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Now they are at a crossroads around what to do with their second overall pick.
On the other hand, they were able to draft someone like Dylan Harper and build an impressive young core. But they also have the option to let go of that pick along with some other assets to potentially land someone like Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Many teams have expressed interest in double the NBA MVP as Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks are expected to say goodbye to the offseason.
However, many believe that the Spurs land someone in the Antetocomo caliber is unfair to the rest of the league. Meanwhile, the 7x NBA All-Star Joe Johnson has a different view on that.
“Life is not fair. You put them on the team that will certainly be the number one defensive.
He added: “Giannis is worth it. If he plays with other great talents, he will be happy to passerby. He is certainly a cheat code.”
Johnson justified this hypothetical move, but his co-host Chad Ochocinco disagreed.
“Hell no, that’s not fair,” he said.
The Bucks face three consecutive first-round playoff exits, but there’s a clear chance that he’ll face Flak from fans when someone in the caliber of Antetokounmpo leaves the team that drafted him.
However, popular rapper Ice Cube believes Antetokounmpo’s legacy is safe, regardless of what he does during the offseason.
“If he bounces back one championship and wins, I don’t think that will hurt his legacy,” Cube said.
But what if Antetokounmpo ignored the noise and stayed in Milwaukee? In that case, the Cube believes that all the legacy of the Greek freaks will be said and grow when completed.
