Joel Embiid enjoyed his best game of the season so far on Wednesday, scoring 35 points in the Six’s loss to Memphis. After the defeat, Embiid said his side “needs to get better.”
Six needs to be improved
The Six continued their season’s miserable start on Wednesday. The Grizzlies losses caused five consecutive losses for Philadelphia.
The Sixers were once again frightening, but Joel Embiid finally enjoyed some joy in court after a tough start to the year for a former MVP.
Embiid dropped 35 for the Grizzlies in the loss, earning 14 free throws and shooting 48% off the field with 11 rebounds, but he wasn’t satisfied at all following the team’s latest defeat.
“It’s a bit annoying to have to deal with the same thing over and over again,” Embiid said. “My entire career is all about focusing on basketball and trying to live the best life for my family.
“But that’s incredible.
In the week, it was reported that Six had held a team meeting for his recent form. Embiid actually called out to Tyree Maxie, leaving her court away from her.

Maxey returned to Philadelphia against the Grizzlies after missing the final six games with hamstring tension. The 24-year-old scored just eight points on Wednesday, but he was only involved for 20 minutes as security guards slowly return from the injury.
With Maxey’s absence, Sixers rookie Jared McCain stepped up and is currently leading the NBA rookie with 15.6 points per game.

Paul George extended his knee for the second time this year on Wednesday, but his injury is just the latest setback for Philadelphia during a difficult time.
The Six is in the NBA Cup action as they face the net on Friday night, but it has been confirmed that Philadelphia has already not been running as they have already lost the first two in the competition.
