Legendary golf personality John Daly shared more health updates than social media. This has been removed for about two months since undergoing emergency surgery due to a hand injury.
Currently, Daly appears on par as he is ready to compete on Friday at the HOAG Classic on the Champions Tour, held at Newport Beach Country Club in California.
“It’s good to be back. It was a bit cruel, but my hands are about 80%,” he said in a video post. “So I thought I was coming here. I love playing with Hoag Classic. Every year, everyone is so great. So we see what happens.”
Daly, 58, revealed that he had undergone 16 surgeries over the past four years due to his intertwined tendons.
“(Doctor) I don’t understand how I played last year,” Daly said. “But he put it back and put it on his index finger or something. 16 surgeries in four years, I almost lost the count.”
A five-time PGA Tour winner, Daly won the 1991 PGA Championship and the 1995 Open Championship.
