John Jones claims he hasn’t pulled the string amid an ongoing fiasco at the top of the UFC’s heavyweight division, but former middleweight champion Michael Bispin hasn’t bought it.

It’s been more than two years since “Bone” won the heavyweight title. Since then, he has once defended the belt against the cute-patterned Myocics of the past, and has been looking perfectly at Tom Aspinel, who was the interim heavyweight champion for a year, by the time Jones finally notched his first and only defense.

In his recent rant on social media, Jones was absolutely responsible for maintaining the entire department, holding the UFC accountable, suggesting that the delay “has nothing to do with” him.

“John Jones was on Twitter and he was tweeting about the storm,” Bispin said as he discussed the ongoing John Jones Saga on his YouTube channel. This is what he had to say about everyone who says he’s ducking Tom Aspinel. He said, “I talked to the UFC a long time ago about what my future plans are. Since my last fight in New York City, I have not really been going well. Honestly, I am the biggest concern of the UFC and I can continue to present myself as a company champion rather than Tom.

“Then he went on to say, “I’ve just played the role of a man in the company by doing absolutely nothing and holding all the positions, and honestly, it was an incredibly advantageous. I made more money from being a more tentative champion than Tom has.

“Well, it’s all about you, John. You’re a champion, you’re the person you should be fighting for, and it should be defended or vacant.”

Tom Aspinall is the longest intervention intervention champion in UFC history, surpassing Renanbarao’s previous record for 534 days. Unfortunately, “Bone” seems endless as he continues to pass his spending and is not accountable for his actions or his lack of it.
