Next year’s Classic TT marks the 30th anniversary of Isle of Man legend John McGuinness, and marks the 30th anniversary of the race.
The 53-year-old, who first competed on Man TT Island in 1996, carves out a glittering racing career for himself.
The 23 TT winner was the second most successful rider in the event behind Joey Dunlop until 2023.
McGuinness came in third on the list of all-time best winners behind Michael Dunlop (33) and Joey Dunlop (26).
Next year’s classic TT will celebrate this to record 30 years since his first race at TT.
“I don’t want to say career because I hate career language, because it wasn’t work for me,” McGuinness said of this on TT+.
“It was a journey of ups and downs, laughs, tears, some admiration along the way, but what we did, the amazing people I met.
“It’s all about people and families, and now I can share it with people. I have so many cool things, some great bikes, some great stories.
“I’ve put out a few little bits over the years, but maybe I’ll bring up some dirty old underpants because I’ll win the race somewhere!
“But seeing what we did with Joey, I was Joey’s teammate 25 years ago and I’ve been 30 years old.
“I can’t believe 30 years have passed. I feel like 30 minutes have passed. But what a journey, I am so proud and honored that they do it for me. It’s so special.”
The 2025 Classic TT celebrated 25 years since Joey Dunlop won his final victory on the Isle of Man just weeks before his tragic death in Estonia.
McGuinness teased that “some cool things” will be exhibiting classic TT from his career next year.
“I just kept everything.
“Everyone thinks I’m mad, but I’m keeping everything.
“Every one, one of every team shirt. I remember there was no place to live at the time.
“I lived on (wife) Becky’s couch.
“And I would put everything in a black bin liner, tie them up and throw them into Becky’s mother’s loft.
“And they stayed there for years, like the Joey Fairing on display here. And now I have a decent place now, I have it all.
“There are a few cool things that can ring until next year, and I hope everyone enjoys it.”
The 2026 Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT will be held from Sunday, August 16th to Friday, August 28th.
