Jorge Masvidal wants to calm the beef with Leon Edwards.

Earlier this month, Edwards finished for the first time in his career when Sean Brady submitted him at the main event at UFC London. This was the second consecutive loss for the former welterweight champion, dropping “Rocky” far out of the title conversation in the near future. And considering that many fans, like Masvidal, hope that Edwards and Masvidal will eventually be able to meet in the cage.

“I will understand that for the next thing,” Masvidal said. Submitted radio When asked why he wasn’t fighting at UFC 314 in Miami. “We’re coming back, we’ll make it work. But as I said, as long as it’s a Leon type fight, we’ll definitely be the ones who make it right. Leon fights your boy.

Masvidal and Edwards beef returned to the UFC London Card in 2019. Edwards won the split decision over Gunner Nelson in the co-main event, while Masvidal knocked out Darren in the main event. However, after the event, the two had a behind-the-scenes argument in which Masvidal punched Edwards. And he’s ready to do it again with a momentary notification.

“The boy’s butt will be whipped tomorrow,” Masvidal said when asked about his return timeline. “He’s always known for the daytime*cking-one. From the first day he crossed the line with me. Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop, Pow!

But I’m just chilling now. Nothing is promised. And I’m 40 years old. Everything is correct. You guys have to tell me, I have to see, and this and that, since I’ve retired, you know? But if that’s correct, if they told me, “We’re going to take care of this, we’ve had the fight of Leon” ready. ”

Masvidal retired from MMA in 2023 and then held a boxing match with Nate Diaz in July 2024. However, despite his vacation and the fact that he finished his UFC run with a straight win that lost four games, Masvidal is sure he will do a show for the fans and give him much more Edwards than a three-piece soda when they match.

“In every respect, in shape, in shape,” Masvidal said when asked how to defeat Edwards. “I know one thing, he can’t wrestletter me in five rounds. So I don’t have to worry about takedowns. And I’m more fragile than me. I take a shot, he’s broken compared to me.
